São Paulo, Brazil-based LOGLINE Solucoes Logistica Integradas (LOGLINE Integrated Global Solutions), a member of all 3 IFLN networks, has been amongst the numerous IFLN forwarders to have played an important role in fighting back against the Covid-19 pandemic.

LOGLINE was approached by a company linked to the Brazilian Government to handle the transport of a large amount of personal protective equipment (PPE) to its final destination in Brazil, part of the wider effort to help the country hard-hit by the virus.

Amongst the intended cargo to be shipped are no less than 1,000 much-needed ventilators, and in July LOGLINE oversaw the in-country movement of a first tranche of approximately 200 ventilators that were flown into Såo Paulo Guarulhos International Airport and that needed to be trucked to their final destination.

The United States Government, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), donated this first consignment of 200 brand new, state-of-the-art ventilators to Brazil, and LOGLINE moved quickly into action to handle the movement from airport to destination, assigning all of its Intermodal Team to handle the time-critical shipment.

The ventilators, produced in the US, reflect leading-edge and in-demand technology. They are compact, deployable, and are providing Brazil with flexibility in treating patients affected by the virus. For patients whose lungs are not working adequately despite receiving supplemental oxygen, this vital resource may prove life-saving.

Fabiano Magalhães, LOGLINE’s CEO, comments: “The company has a global presence and local knowledge, which guaranteed the safety of [the cargo’s] transportation and enabled unchallenged logistics. And we are able to meet the personalized demands of our customers.”

Todd Chapman, the US ambassador to Brazil, remarks: “We are very pleased to see the first shipment of the 1,000 ventilators promised by President Trump arriving in Brazil.

“We are working with the Ministry of Health to quickly incorporate the ventilators into Brazil’s health system and assisting those Brazilians who need it most.”

The 200 ventilator units of the first tranche of deliveries already handled by LOGLINE are valued at more than US$2.5 million.

LOGLINE is continuing to prioritize the transport of cargo that represent countermeasures to the Covid-19 threat, such as test kits, thermometers, masks, equipment and respirators.

Marcelo Marçal, in charge of network development at LOGLINE, informs that the next shipment of this valuable cargo is to arrive later this month (August) and will again be handled in Brazil by the cargo agent.
